Special Strength: Connecting with people and building trust and rapport with ease
Goal: I am passionate about this work and making it a long term career. As a new CDFA, my goal is to master the work behind the scenes in order to apply these skills to my own divorce planning work with clients in the near future.
Focus: Internally supporting AJW’s divorce planning colleagues and being a first point of contact for client’s.
Interests: She loves to spend time with her husband, 3 kids and kitty, tackling challenging home projects with her husband, loves cooking fancy meals & decorating cakes. She has been told (by her family) that she is a bit obsessed with cool cars (classic VW’s especially), watching real estate trends, home design shows and home improvements.
Her Colleagues Say: As our new rookie, she has jumped right in and taken the bull by the horns…we can’t wait to get her over to Cowboy Jack’s to test her skills on the mechanical bull!”
Kari started with AJW Financial in November of 2017 to expand her financial knowledge and pursue her ultimate desire to help couples work through important financial decisions related to their divorce. She joined us from a financial services firm where she spent the past 3 years working as a Licensed Financial Associate, learning the financial services world while obtaining her Series 7 & Series 66 registrations as well as her CDFA (Certified Divorce Financial Analyst®) designation. She supported a fast-paced Lead Financial Consultant, managing a great deal of financial paperwork, office operations, event planning & compliance.
Kari has a strong background in sales, customer relations and information technology that comes from over 17 years of work history at Northwest Airlines and United Healthcare. She is engaged in her community and spent 3 years voluntarily serving on the Economic Development Advisory Committee (EDAC) for the City of Shakopee, MN. She volunteers when she can at her children’s schools and has also served time on a local school board committee. Kari decided to make a complete career change 3 years ago, into the financial services industry, after being inspired by the financial work that had been done for her, specifically in divorce financial planning. She is very excited to be at AJW Financial and continues to be inspired by the work we do every day. We look forward to helping her learn and expand her role into the divorce financial planner she desires to be.
