Special Strength: Connecting with people and building trust and rapport with ease
Goal: Käri is passionate about this work and making it a long-term career. Her goal is to master the work behind the scenes in order to apply these skills to her own divorce planning work with clients.
Focus: Internally supporting AJW’s divorce planning colleagues as a para-planner with case prep and calculations, being a first point of contact for clients, and her volunteer work with the Sliding Scale Fee Committee as a financial neutral mediator.
Interests: She loves to spend time with her husband, 3 kids and kitty, tackling challenging home projects with her husband, loves cooking fancy meals & decorating cakes. She has been told (by her family) that she is a bit obsessed with cool cars (classic VW’s especially), watching real estate trends, home design shows and home improvements.
Her Colleagues Say:
Käri is always ready & willing to jump right in and help where needed - the divorce team would be lost without her! Some days literally as she is off helping clients or solving a technology issue somewhere in the office.
Käri started with AJW Financial in November of 2017 to expand her financial knowledge and pursue her ultimate desire to help couples work through important financial decisions related to their divorce. She is passionate about her work. She is multi-dimensional and services in many roles for our organization and others.
With a strong background in sales, customer relations and information technology, Käri worked for over 17 years at Northwest Airlines and United Healthcare. She is engaged in her community and spent 3 years voluntarily serving on the Economic Development Advisory Committee (EDAC) for the City of Shakopee, MN. She volunteers when she can at her children’s schools and has also served time on a local school board committee. Käri decided to make a complete career change into the financial services industry, after being inspired by the financial work that had been done for her, specifically in divorce financial planning. She loves being at AJW Financial and continues to be inspired by the work we do every day. We have enjoyed helping her learn and expand her role into a divorce financial planner.
Käri also loves technology. Internally, she assists with supporting our office’s technology needs, as well as the technology needs of the Collaborative Alliance suites. And if that was not enough to fill her plate, she is also currently studying at the American College of Financial Professionals to obtain her Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC®) designation, for advanced financial planning skills and knowledge.
