Käri McGuire

Senior Client Service Associate / Mediator

Special Strength: Connecting with people and building trust and rapport with ease

Goal: Käri aims for mastery behind the scenes because she knows that preparation lays the foundation for the best client experience throughout the divorce planning process.

Focus: Käri is often the first point of contact for client. She supports her colleagues by organizing client data, performing calculations, and preparing reports to facilitate planning. She also volunteers as a member of the Collaborative Law Institute's Sliding Scale Fee Committee. Through that committee, Käri serves clients in her role as a financial mediator on a sliding fee scale.

Interests: She loves to spend time with her husband, her three kids, and their kitty. She enjoys watching real estate trends and home design/improvement shows, and then tackling challenging projects on her home.  Käri also loves to cook fancy meals and decorate cakes.  And her family members tell her she is a bit obsessed with cool cars, especially classic VW’s.  Käri is engaged in her community and spent three years volunteering for the Economic Development Advisory Committee (EDAC) for the City of Shakopee, MN.  She volunteers for her children’s schools and has also served time on a local school board committee.

Her Colleagues Say:

She is always ready and willing to jump right in and help wherever and whenever needed.  It is not an exaggeration to say that our divorce team would be lost without Käri.  We call her our Swiss Army knife because she has so many skills, and there is not a day that we do not rely on her tech expertise.

Käri joined AJW Financial in 2017 to pursue her ultimate desire to guide divorcing couples through important financial decisions. She previously spent a combined 17 years at Northwest Airlines and United Healthcare.  She developed a strong background in sales, customer relations, and information technology.  Käri was inspired by financial planning that was done for her, and she decided to make a complete career change into the financial services industry.  She was specifically interested in the financial aspects of divorce and earned the Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® designation in February of 2017.  She has continued to immerse herself in education ever since and is currently studying advanced planning at the American College of Financial Professionals to obtain her Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC®) designation.  Käri also loves technology.  She supports our internal technology needs, as well as the technology needs of the Collaborative Alliance suites.  Käri loves being at AJW Financial and continues to be inspired by the work we do every day. Käri also loves technology.
